Brighton - The Best Restaurants, Cafe's & Places To Eat And Drink...

As you might imagine, Brighton is simply bustling with a wealth of restaurants, pubs, clubs, bars and cafes. No matter what you fancy eating or drinking, no matter what ambience you’re after – and no matter at what time, you’ll find something that you’ll adore.

Some Popular Restaurants:

For some highly tasty seafood at even tastier prices check out the Shellfish Hut (very near Brighton Pier). You can enjoy a mixed bowl of shellfish for under five quid, which is something of a find in the city.

Red Veg is a pleasant vegetarian restaurant which serves up a cracking veggie burger for under a fiver – the location is along Gardner St along North Laine.

Fancy an Indian? One of the most popular places to visit is The interestingly named Black Chapati – the mains are somewhat pricey but with the reputation of being the best Indian restaurant in the South, it’s got to be worth a visit.

Along Kemp Town is the pleasant La Capannina which serves up fantastic Italian cuisine at pretty standard prices. There’s everything from chicken and fish to pizza and pasta and the atmosphere is lively. The restaurant is along Madeira Place.

A cozy Thai restaurant can be found along St James Street in Kemptown – Muang Thai is a slightly pricey eastern restaurant that serves up very good Oriental Thai dishes. Another pleasant thai place is The Little Buddah – despite the good food it’s actually the “bring your own wine” feature that’s really cute. Great if you’re on a tight money-rope but you still fancy getting a few glasses of wine without having to pay exorbidant restaurant rates.

For fine French cuisine, get on over to The Gingerman which is situated in Norfolk Square (in Hove).

If you’re visiting from abroad, a visit to De Vere Grand along Kings Road is a must. Why? You can sample traditional tea and cucumber sandwiches (an English traditional snack) everyday between 3 and 6pm. It’s somewhat pricey but worth a visit for the experience and ambience alone.

Onto even grander places to eat – Loch Fyne on Western Road was designed by one of the same architects that worked on the Royal Pavilion. It’s situated on the seafront and it’s lavishly spread over two floors. There’s a great choice of seafood and expensive wines here – but don’t go there on a budget or you may end up having to wash the dishes.
